Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HomeDec IQ Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the HomeDec IQ mobile application (the “App”). The App generates interior design concepts using artificial intelligence. To do this, some information — including photos you choose to use — is sent to third-party AI providers for processing, as described below.

Information we collect

We collect and process the following:

• Email address — used to create your account, sign you in, and contact you about your account where necessary.
• Password — stored in a securely hashed form solely to authenticate your access. We never store your password in plain text and cannot read it.
• Photos you choose to use — when you ask the App to generate an interior design from a photo, that photo is uploaded and sent to our third-party AI provider to produce the design. See “AI processing and third parties” below.
• Usage information — limited account data such as the number of designs you have generated and your subscription status, used to operate features and any usage limits.

AI processing and third parties

The App's interior design feature is powered by third-party artificial intelligence services. To generate a design, we send the relevant input — which may include a photo of your room and a text description — to these providers:

• Stability AI — receives the photo you submit and generates a restyled interior design image from it.
• Anthropic (Claude) — used to analyse and prepare design instructions.

These providers process the data we send them in order to return a result to you, and their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies. We send this information over encrypted connections. We do not control how third-party providers retain data; we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies. We only send a photo when you actively choose to generate a design from it.

How we use your information

We use the information described above only to:

• Create, secure, and manage your account;
• Authenticate you when you sign in; and
• Communicate with you about your account, security, or important changes to the App.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do share the following in order to provide the App's core functionality:

• Photos and design inputs are shared with our AI providers (Stability AI and Anthropic) solely to generate the design you request, as described above.

We may also disclose information where required to do so by law, or to protect our legal rights.

Data security

Information transmitted between the App and our systems is encrypted in transit using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored using secure one-way hashing. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete the associated email address and account record from our active systems, subject to any retention required by law.

Your rights and choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us using the details below and we will action your request. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
